The Myth of Normal” and “The Body Keeps the Score” in the First Session of “Writing Dancing and Healing”

The first session of the “Writing Dancing and Healing” workshop at Elles Publishing House focused on exploring the connection between reading, practical exercises, and the applied lessons from the two books.

The session included a free self-portrait drawing exercise, where participants expressed their feelings about daily pressure, discovered their ability to say “no,” and reflected on how stress affects both body and mind.

Discussions also addressed the theoretical content of the books, linking participants’ personal experiences to Gábor Maté’s insights on mental and physical health in “The Myth of Normal”, and the exploration of bodily memory in Dr. Bessel van der Kolk’s “The Body Keeps the Score”.
