Storytelling Night: Sudanese Folktales & Music at Elles | Ramadan 2026 Activities

Elles Publishing House is organizing a new cultural evening titled “Storytelling Night | Sudanese Folktales & Music” as part of its Ramadan 2026 program. The evening brings together Sudanese folk narratives and the melodies of the oud, creating a warm space for story, voice, and shared memory.

The event will feature distinguished guests: Dr. Kamal Youssef, a Sudanese musician and academic; Ghada Badawi, a Sudanese writer whose works include “Mahabba Takfi Thamaniya” (A Love Enough for Eight), the comics “Ana wal Qahira” (Me and Cairo), and the fragment collection “Hal Min Ahad Huna” (Is Anyone Here?); and Mohamed Abdel Salam, a Sudanese singer and oud player who will guide the audience through a musical journey that intertwines with the stories, giving them rhythm and resonance.

The evening reflects Elles’ commitment to creating spaces for oral storytelling and music. Stories, live performance, and song are expected to intertwine in an interactive experience celebrating culture and shared expression.
