Elles Reading Club Discusses “New Paths” | Ramadan 2026 Activities

| |

Elles organized a new session of the Elles Reading Club to discuss the book “New Paths: Reflections on Women’s Political Activism in Sudan” as part of its Ramadan cultural program, which brings together reading, dialogue, and the exchange of experiences.

The session explored the book’s key themes with Fahima Hashem and Nour Mohamed Othman, in the presence of the book’s translator, Zeinab Hamed.

The book is a study that seeks to identify and examine key theoretical insights drawn from the traditions and practices of Sudanese feminists, while engaging in a personal and political inquiry into their current dynamics. Particular emphasis is placed on feminist debates related to theorizing the strategies Sudanese women employ to assert agency and autonomy.
