Launch of a Documentary Filmmaking Workshop at Elles Publishing House

| |

Elles Publishing House announces the launch of a Documentary Filmmaking Workshop, aimed at introducing participants to the fundamentals of visual storytelling and enabling them to express their ideas and experiences through film.

The workshop covers a range of practical and theoretical topics, including how to see reality through the camera lens, how to develop stories, and how to structure events in a way that serves the narrative, in addition to learning about different types of cameras and lenses, as well as the basics of sound recording.

The program also includes hands-on training in producing short documentaries and visual reports, within a learning experience that combines both theory and practice.

The workshop is designed across three levels: starting with an understanding of high-budget commercial film production, moving through digital production, and focusing primarily on low- or no-budget filmmaking enabling participants to create their own work with accessible resources.

The workshop is open to beginners, with no prior experience required, and the content is delivered in a clear and accessible way.

The workshop is led by trainer Maged Makram and runs for 16 sessions (3 hours each), held every Sunday and Wednesday at Elles Publishing House.

The first session is scheduled for April 26, and the application deadline is April 21.
