It is time, then, to build our understanding of the human being, our relationship with nature, and the future of society upon a more realistic conception of humanity and the world—and to rethink our very way of being. Human beings can, of course, be racist and aggressive; a quick glance at the daily news is enough to confirm that. Yet they also evolved as inherently social beings. This new perspective is grounded in systems thinking, which moves beyond the limitations of reductionist approaches.
