Elles Publishing House is organizing a creative writing workshop with writer and trainer Rajaei Moussa, titled “Write Without Mercy,” offering participants the opportunity to experiment with writing in the style of Russian writer Daniil Kharms and explore unconventional approaches to constructing and deconstructing narrative.
The workshop focuses on techniques linked to absurdism and black humor, where participants learn to produce short, open-ended texts that move beyond traditional narrative structures.
The experience draws on the work of Daniil Kharms, one of the leading figures of the Russian avant-garde and a member of the OBERIU literary group, which emerged in the 1920s and 1930s. Their work is known for breaking classical narrative forms, embracing illogic and absurdity, using stripped-down language, and reimagining the very concept of “storytelling.”
