The Necessity of Being Ourselves Discussed at Elles Book Club

Elles Book Club hosted writer and gender studies researcher Dr. Eman Yehia for a discussion of her book The Necessity of Being Ourselves, attended by readers and those interested in the book and feminist studies.

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Hala Kamal, Professor of English Literature and Gender Studies in the English Department, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, a founding member of Women and Memory Forum, and a feminist translator.

The meeting featured a conversation around the book’s ideas and questions, giving participants the opportunity to exchange readings and reflections and engage in an open discussion, as part of Elles Book Club’s ongoing gatherings that create space for dialogue around books and enrich the collective reading experience.
